How to Update to iOS 10 on Your iPhone/iPad

After unveiling the iPhone 7 at a highly publicized event this month, Apple officially started to roll out the latest version of its mobile operating system, iOS 10 which has many wonderful features. Many people can’t wait to upgrade it. But how? here are some steps for you.

Part 1: Before you update

(1)Before starting upgrading, you should know whether your devices can be supported for upgrading. Here’s the list of previous iOS devices which could be upgraded to Apple’s new system iOS10.

(2)Make a backup of your device
Before performing the upgrade, you should make sure that your data is back up to iCloud or iTunes. This act is a good idea to prevent data lost. In case the data is lost, you can also use iPhone Recovery to find out.

(3)Make room on your device
It will need 1GB to 2 GB of free space on your device to prepare for the update.

(4)Make sure the battery is at least 60% charged
Because the backup could take a while. Also, your phone has to be connected to Wi-Fi. If you try to update over a cellular data connection, it won’t work.

Part 2: How to update

1)Ready to get iOS 10? Go to Settings > General > Software Update
This step will help your phone to check for the latest updates. A massage will pop up and telling you that iOS10 is ready, you just need to choose Download.

2) Tap Download
At this step, your device will start to download the update. Just be patient and wait for it.

3) Leave the update to download in the background
Once the download has finished you will receive a notification saying that an update is available for your device.

4) Tap Details
This will take you to Settings > General > Software Update.

5) Tap Install Now
The iPhone or iPad will now start to install the iOS update.
You can choose to leave the installation for later. Settings will display a notification badge until you have installed the update.

6)Solve the error
If something goes wrong and the data lost occurs when upgrading, iPhone Data Software will help you to save your data from iCloud or iTunes.
